The Day We Harvested Our First Flowers

There are moments that become milestones.

Today was one of them.

This morning, we harvested the very first flowers from Able Journey Farm.

Standing in the yard with an armful of sunflowers made all the early mornings, scorching Texas heat, countless weeds, and endless planning worth it.

When we first planted these seeds, we were planting hope.

Hope that one day this little flower farm would provide beautiful locally grown flowers to our community.

Hope that it will grow into a business that creates meaningful opportunities for people who are too often overlooked.

Hope that something small could become something much bigger.

Today’s harvest is just the first chapter.

There are more flowers on the way, more varieties beginning to bloom, and many more lessons to learn. But today we’ll pause long enough to celebrate this milestone.
